  • Doosan Yonkang Foundation delivers special scholarships to students in Daegu-North Gyeongsang Province to support damage recovery from COVID-19

    - A total of 300 million won delivered to 300 students through the Daegu-North Gyeongsang Province’s Office of Education

    On March 26, Doosan Yonkang Foundation (Chairman Yong Hyun Park) announced that it will support a total of 300 million won in special scholarships to middle and high school students in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province, which were designated as special disaster zones due to the damages inflicted by the outbreak of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). The scholarships will be delivered to 300 students through the Daegu-North Gyeongsang Province’s Office of Education.

  • Doosan Yonkang Foundation offers 2 billion won in scholarships

    On Feb. 27, Doosan Yonkang Foundation announced that it will offer a total of 2 billion won ($1.67 million) in scholarships to elementary school/middle school/high school/university students this year. On Feb. 26, it delivered 23 million won, out of the total 2 billion won, to 158 university students. The foundation was established in 1978 to honor the belief of Doosan’s founding chairman, the late Park Too-pyung, who emphasized the importance of education and development. It has been offering scholarships to students with outstanding achievements, even in difficult circumstances, since its year of establishment.

  • 2019 Doosan Yonkang Academic Award Announced for Best Medical Paper

    - Researcher Hyun Yong Koh receives 30 million won in prize money for finding the cause of intrinsic epileptogenicity in pediatric brain tumors

    Doosan Yonkang Foundation (Chairman Yong Hyun Park) announced on July 21 that it presented the 2019 Doosan Yonkang Academic Award for best medical paper to Hyun Yong Koh, a researcher at the Graduate School of Medical Science and Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). The winner also received 30 million won (about $25,000) and a plaque.

  • Doosan Yonkang Foundation Hosts the 2019 Overseas Economic Study Tour for Teachers

    120 elementary, middle and high school teachers in 3 groups visit industrial sites in Changwon, Korea, and Japan

    Doosan Yonkang Foundation (Chairman Yong Hyun Park) is hosting the 2019 Overseas Economic Study Tour for 120 elementary, middle and high school teachers from June 4 to June 25. The teachers, who were selected from among those recommended by metropolitan and provincial offices of education nationwide, went on an eight-day, seven-night tour in three groups.

  • Doosan Yonkang Foundation Delivers Doosan Dream Tree Scholarships

    Doosan Yonkang Foundation (Chairman Yong Hyun Park) announced on May 31 that it has delivered 380 million won (about $321,000) in scholarships this year to 297 students who have been selected as Doosan Dream Tree scholarship recipients or those from multicultural households. Since 2006, the company has selected the Doosan Dream Tree scholarship recipients from among those recommended by  metropolitan and provincial offices of education nationwide, and delivered scholarships to a total of 3,966 elementary and middle school students until this year.

    Doosan Yonkang Foundation (Chairman Yong Hyun Park) announced on Feb. 26 that it held the 2019 Doosan Yonkang Foundation Scholarship Awards Ceremony at the Hotel Skypark Dongdaemun, presenting 860 million won (or $765,800) in scholarships to 128 university students on the afternoon of Feb. 25.

  • Doosan Yonkang Foundation Celebrates Publication of Teachers’ Overseas Economic Study Tour Essays

    essays titled, “Meet Japan where Tradition and Innovation Coexist,” at Millennium Seoul Hilton on the afternoon of Jan. 31. The 440-plus page book chronicles the accounts of 116 schoolteachers from elementary, middle and high schools who participated in an eight-day, seven-night economic tour program held in June, to industrial sites and facilities of Fukuoka, Osaka, Kobe and Nagoya in Japan, and other cities in Korea.

  • Doosan Yonkang Foundation Hosts 13th Science Teachers’ Study Tour

    Doosan Yonkang Foundation (Chairman Yong Hyun Park) is hosting the 13th Science Teachers’ Study Tour for science teachers in elementary, middle and high schools in Korea from Jan. 14 to 21. Thirty-six laureates of the Science Teacher of the Year Awards are attending this year’s tour, which is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity. The eight-day, seven-night tour includes visits to industrial sites in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province, as well as science museums, tech firms and high schools in the Japanese cities of Osaka, Nagoya and Tokyo.

  • Doosan Yonkang Foundation Signs 1 Billion Won Funding Agreement with Seoul National University College of Medicine

    Funding to support efforts to improve medical library, education environment

    On Oct. 10, Doosan Yonkang Foundation (Chairman Yong Hyun Park) signed a funding agreement with Professor Chan Soo Shin, dean of the Seoul National University College of Medicine, to support the school’s efforts to improve its education and research environment. The signing took place at the main conference room of the school’s Administration Department. All of the funding will be used to provide a better education and research environment to the students by purchasing medical books and more.
