고(故) 연강(蓮崗) 박두병 두산그룹 초대회장은 일찍부터 기업의 사회적 책임에 눈뜬 시대의
선각자였습니다.
박두병 회장은 교육이 국가 발전의 원동력이라는 믿음을 실천하고자 학술 재단 설립을
계획했으나, 열매를 맺지 못한 채 1973년 향년 63세로 타계했습니다. 이후 그 유지를 받들어
1978년 10월 두산연강재단이 발족했습니다.
박두병 회장의 사회공헌 정신은 두산연강재단이 계승하고 확장하여, 국내 최장수 그룹 두산과
함께 영원히 살아있을 것입니다.
