On the 22nd, Doosan Yonkang Foundation (Chairman Yong-Hyun Park) held the '2024 Doosan Yonkang Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery Award' ceremony at Grand Walkerhill in Seoul, and awarded 10 million won in prize money and plaques to Professor Hyung-Il Seo of Pusan National University Hospital, Professor Jun-Seong Park of Seoul National University Hospital, and Professor Dong-Ho Choi of Hanyang University Hospital, respectively.
Professor Hyung-Il Seo achieved results by studying risk factors for delirium* symptoms that can occur in elderly patients after cholecystectomy, and Professor Jun-Seong Park compared and analyzed the cancer progression classification system revised by the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) for patients with cholangiocarcinoma.
Professor Dong-Ho Choi received recognition from the academic community by suggesting a method to improve the efficiency of liver organoid*** generation using chemically generated liver progenitor cells**.


The Doosan Yonkang Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery Award was established in 2023 to promote the development of Korean Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic surgery and to encourage the research enthusiasm of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic surgeons.
