On Feb. 27, Doosan Yonkang Foundation announced that it will offer a total of 2 billion won ($1.67 million) in scholarships to elementary school/middle school/high school/university students this year. On Feb. 26, it delivered 23 million won, out of the total 2 billion won, to 158 university students.
The foundation was established in 1978 to honor the belief of Doosan’s founding chairman, the late Park Too-pyung, who emphasized the importance of education and development. It has been offering scholarships to students with outstanding achievements, even in difficult circumstances, since its year of establishment.
Doosan Yonkang Foundation chairman Park Yong-hyun said, "I hope we can be of at least a little bit of help to the students, as they pursue their dreams and grow to become good members of society.”
