The Yonkang Foundation of Doosan Group (Park Yong-hyeon, Chairman), an organization that supports academic study activities, will celebrate publication of 'Remembering Goguryeo at Liaodong,' a collection of travel records written by the teachers who participated in last year's 15th Teachers' Overseas Academic Survey, to be held at the Seoul KyoYuk MunHwa HoeKwan on the 17th of this month.
The book, published to help students acquire an understanding of Korean history, vividly describes the teachers' experiences at various historic sites including the King Gwanggaeto Stele, the Janggunchong (General's Tomb), and Gungnaeseong Fortress, as well as such historically renowned locations as Amnokgang River, Mt. Baekdusan, Yanji City, and the Korean Exile Government Building in Shanghai.
Some 1577 teachers participated in the teachers' overseas academic survey, which has been conducted 16 times since 1989. They have renewed their recognition of the misrepresentation of Goguryeo history by the Northeast Project of China and the remains of our cultures scattered in China, and provided information to students contributing to a review of the history of Korea.
