At Doosan Group's 2008 Scholarship Conferment ceremony, held at Doosan Tower in Euljiro 6(yuk)-ga on March 10, Y.H. Park, the chairman of Doosan Group's Yonkang Foundation, delivered a scholarship of one billion won along with various mementos to 355

selected beneficiary students.

The selected 198 elementary and middle school beneficiaries will receive scholarships until they leave middle school.

Furthermore, 76 high school students and 76 university students, all of whom were recommended by their schools because they accomplished excellent academic results in the face of difficult circumstances, will benefit from the payment of all their tuition fees until

they graduate. This has certainly boosted the morale of the beneficiaries.

Chairman Park said at the ceremony, "It is young people's privilege to overcome difficult circumstances, and I am glad that the scholarship will help inspire these students to work harder."

Since its establishment in 1978, Doosan Group's Yonkang Foundation - as Doosan's academic and cultural foundation - has supported academic and cultural programs as well as scholarships.

The foundation also continues to offer its Chinese Studies Research Institute Scholarship, Doosan Children Sports Scholarship, Flood-affected Areas Scholarship, Scholarship for Korean Departments at Famous Foreign Universities, among others.
