On April 21, Doosan Group's Yonkang Foundation (President Y.H. Park) donated 50 million won to the "After-school English Academy" operated by Seoul's Jungbu District of Education.

The fund will be used to run a gifted English language program for middle school students from the Jungbu District.

The program, conducted between April and December 2008, is intended to "help the youth unleash their linguistic gift, promote their self-fulfillment and produce proficient English speakers needed by the country."

President Y.H. Park commented saying, "I hope our modest contribution can help this wonderful program reach its goal of fostering talented individuals with global skills to lead tomorrow's Korean society."

The Yonkang Foundation, established in 1978 by the Doosan Group, provides scholarships and supports academic and cultural projects.
