Y. H. Park, the president of Doosan Group’s Yonkang Group, donated an environmental research grant of KRW 100 million to ten persons, including Professor Je Ill Oh (Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering) and Professor Seon-Hong Kang (Department of Environmental Engineering), at the Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Hotel.

Yonkang Foundation’s environmental research grant was established in 1993 to promote the development of environmental technology and research on the environment in Korea.

Those holding professorial posts in departments related to the study of environmental and safety issues are eligible for the grant. Since 1993, a total of 129 research projects have received grants.

President Y. H. Park said, “The environment and human beings coexist with each other.

As such, we cannot promote development without giving thought to the environment. We expect the results of research projects which receive the Yonkang Foundation’s environmental research grant to contribute to enhancing the quality of  life”

Each year the Yonkang Foundation publishes a “Yonkang Journal of Environmental Studies,” a compilation of the results of these research projects, and distributes it to universities, libraries, and the relevant organizations and researchers in Korea.
