□ Doosan Group’s Yonkang Foundation (Chairman Y.H. Park) donated 50 million won (US$ 40,000)  to cover the operational costs of the “Jungbu Elite After-school English Program” to the Jungbu District Office of Education in Seoul on May 19.

□ The After-school program is one of the projects aimed at developing specialty fields for the schools involved, at providing educational opportunities corresponding to the students’ abilities, and at cultivating talented students of English.

□ The donation will be used for middle school students who have been recommended by the principals of schools in the Jungbu District Office of Education.

□ Chairman Y.H. Park of the foundation said, “English is a basic requirement in this era of globalization. We hope that our donation will serve as a small catalyst for cultivating talented students who are amply suited to the globalization era.”
