□ Doosan Group Yonkang Foundation (Chairman Y.H. Park) said on August 28 that it has selected three people as ‘Class 18 of Yonkang Chinese Studies Researchers” and will provide them with over 50 million won (US$ 40,000) including tuitions, room and board over the next year.
□ The researchers will register as advanced research students under mentorship of famous Chinese professors at Beijing University and other schools, and conduct in-depth study on China’s law, diplomacy, language and culture, beginning in September.
□ Yonkang Foundation has selected “Yonkang Chinese Studies Researchers” since 1992 to study China and cultivate experts on China, which is growing as the hub of the global economy. The foundation has supported 72 Chinese studies researchers thus far.
