Doosan Yonkang Foundation (Chairman Yong Hyun Park) is hosting the 13th Science Teachers’ Study Tour
for science teachers in elementary, middle and high schools in Korea from Jan. 14 to 21.
Thirty-six laureates of the Science Teacher of the Year Awards are attending this year’s tour, which is hosted
by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science
and Creativity.
The eight-day, seven-night tour includes visits to industrial sites in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province,
as well as science museums, tech firms and high schools in the Japanese cities of Osaka, Nagoya and
Tokyo.
This year, a special lecture will be delivered by Hirano Doshihite, a professor at Aichi University, about
Japan’s science education during a seminar.
Since 2007, Doosan Yonkang Foundation has offered tours to overseas academic facilities for teachers
selected as Science Teachers of the Year, with 493 teachers participating in the program so far.
