Chairman Y.H. Park of Doosan Group Yonkang Foundation Presents US$ 87,000 in Yonkang Research Grants

□ Chairman Y.H. Park of Doosan Group’s Yonkang Foundation presented US$ 87,000 in research grants to Professor Dong-seok Kim (Department of Environmental Science) of the Catholic University of Daegu and Professor Yeon-sik Lee (Department of Chemical Engineering) of Chonbuk National University during a signing ceremony for Yonkang Environment Research Grants held at the Grand Ambassador Hotel in Seoul on November 25.


□ The Yonkang Environment Research Grant program, which was introduced in 1993 to help develop environmental technology and promote the related research, is designed to support professors specializing in the environment and safety nationwide. Grants have


been awarded to 139 research projects thus far.


□ Chairman Y.H. Park said at the ceremony, “The environment and humanity are in a relationship of co-existence, and it is the responsibility of all of us to create a clean, habitable environment. We hope that the research achievements made possible through the


Yonkang Environment Research Grant program will contribute to the development of academic subjects and technology related to the environment.”


□ In addition, the Yonkang Foundation publishes an annual ‘Yonkang Foundation Report on Research Papers on the Environment’, and distributes it to universities, libraries and major research institutes across the nation.
