□ Y.H. Park, Chairman of Doosan Group Yonkang Foundation, transferred a total of US$ 950,000 in scholarships along with souvenirs to 370 students during a “ceremony for 2010 Doosan Group scholarship certificates” at Doosan Tower in Euljiro 6(yuk)-ga, Jung-gu,
Seoul on February 25.
□ Doosan Group Yonkang Foundation will give scholarships to 215 elementary and middle school students, who support their family without guardians, until their graduation from middle school. The foundation will also grant full scholarships to 61 high school students
and 94 college students, who were recommended by school principals for their academic excellence despite difficult household environments, until their graduation.
□ Chairman Y.H. Park said at the scholarship award ceremony on the day, “The competitiveness of a nation depends on how well the country cultivate and secure good human resources,” adding, “I wish that the Yonkang Scholarships will help in a small way students,
who are cultivating their dreams and growing to become world-class individuals.
□ Doosan Group Yonkang Foundation is Doosan’s academic and cultural foundation, which provides scholarships and supports academic and cultural projects. Since its inception in 1978, the foundation has conducted far-reaching scholarship programs, encompassing
those for researchers for Chinese studies, Doosan scholarship for promising young athletes, special scholarships for students from flood-affected areas, and scholarships for supporting Korean language departments at leading universities overseas.
