Doosan Group Yonkang Foundation (Chairman Y.H. Park) announced on October 8 that it had provided a total of US$ 108,000 in scholarships to 120 middle and high school students in South Jeolla Province,

which suffered damage during the typhoons Bolaven and Tembin in late August.

Yonkang Foundation arranged the scholarships because it evaluated that assistance for students from households that suffered damage has been lacking, while relief and other support is being provided extensively in the typhoon-affected regions.

A foundation official said, “Students, who are our future, should not see their studies suffer as a result of typhoon damage,” adding, “We hope that our scholarships will provide help to students and their parents in the typhoon-hit regions in a way.”
