On January 21 Doosan Group’s Yonkang Foundation (Chairman Y.H. Park) launched the 7th Academic Travel Program for Science Teachers, a seven day program for science teachers from elementary, middle and high schools.

The tour involved 39 teachers who had been honored at the Science Teacher of the Year Awards, which were hosted by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, and coordinated by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity.

The participants will take a study tour of industrial sites in Changwon in South Gyeongsang Province and move to Japan to visit science-related museums and Osaka Kozu High School in the Osaka region through January 27, while gaining firsthand experience of the

latest science and technology education frontiers.

Chairman Y.H. Park said, “I hope that the teachers’ experiences on the study tour of science education sites in Korea and overseas will contribute to the nurturing of human resources in the science field.”

The Yonkang Foundation has supported academic travel program for science teachers every year since 2007, with a total of 267 teachers participating in the program to date.
