- Delivering 440 million won worth of books for customized use to 57 schools, including elementary
schools in remote areas and islands in Korea, and Korean schools overseas
Doosan Yonkang Foundation (Chairman Yong Hyun Park) announced on Dec. 29 that it had donated
more than 37,000 books—which are worth 440 million won (about $413,000)—carefully selected for
customized use to 41 schools in remote areas and islands across Korea, and 16 Korean schools
overseas, including in Japan and Vietnam.
Under the customized book donation program, Doosan provides books that are recommended by
teachers and that children want to read, rather than unilaterally donating books of its own choosing.
Since 2006, Doosan Yonkang Foundation has donated about 340,000 books to 592 schools,
including elementary schools in Korea and Korean schools overseas.
Doosan Yonkang Foundation is Doosan Group’s scholarship and academic foundation, and has
supported scholarship, academic and cultural programs since its establishment in 1978.
