Since 2007, Doosan Yonkang Foundation has provided all the laureates of the 'Science Teacher of the Year Award' with the opportunity to observe advanced science-related sites at home and abroad, letting them have the necessary experience to cultivate future scientists who are the basis of the nation's future development. A total of 341 teachers have participated in nine sessions of the observation tour up to now. Academic observation reports with their vivid experiences and other related articles have been published as a book, and is donated to science-related institutions for a reference.

The Science Teacher of the Year Award, which is organized by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity and held by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, is awarded to teachers who contribute to the improvement of students’ academic ability and creativity in science education and culture. Applications is submitted to Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity around August, and the award ceremony is held around December every year.
