The previous History and Social Studies Teachers' Overseas Study Tour was expanded and reorganized into the "Overseas Economics Inspection Field Trips" which target teachers of all subjects, in 2010. The program is focused on providing teachers with the opportunity to experience first-hand the rapid ongoing development of China, the largest market for Korean products as well as our closest competitor, and to visit the production sites of Korean companies operating in China, in order to boost their pride in the global reach of the Korean economy and to equip them with the experience needed to instill a desirable economic mindset in the next generation of students, who will lead the Korean economy in the future. So far a total of 444 teachers have participated in the observation tours, and travelogues penned by the participants about the Chinese economy and their cultural experiences during the tours of China have been published.
