Since 2007, Doosan Yonkang Foundation has been supporting the ‘Nurturing of Elementary School Students’ program, which is an after-school program for children from low income families, to mitigate the burden of private education expenses and promote educational welfare. The program greatly helps children to improve their academic achievement by supporting learning and providing nursery expenses for after-school programs for children from low income families. It also provides supervision and care for children who might be left unattended while their parents are at work.
A total of 3,428 students have received this kind of support. Doosan Yonkang Foundation plans to expand the program by investing KRW 2 billion by 2013.
