    Vision

We will be the one who prepares for the 21st century

Doosan Yonkang Foundation was formally established with five directors and two auditors alongside Director Yong Gon Park on October 4, 1978 after an inaugural meeting held in August 1978 by followers of Yonkang, Too Pyung Park (1910~1973), the first chairman of Doosan Group, in honor of his lifelong belief that 'education is the driving force of a nation's development'. With the objective of contributing to the development of the nation and its culture, the foundation is actively supporting environmental research as well as all other areas of academic research that are closely related to our daily lives, and the basic sciences which form the basis for the nation’s development.

Programs currently sponsored by the foundation include the Research Fund Program, which supports pure and basic sciences and academic research to help produce a strong base for the na-tion's development; the Doosan Yonkang Academic Award, which is designed to encourage young medical scientists; the Scholarship Program, which supports outstanding students in need; the Chinese Research Scholarship, which was first provided to scholars studying Chinese studies even before the reopening of diplomatic relations with China; the Overseas Academic Observation Tour, which provides teachers with the opportunity to broaden their perspective; the Book Donation program, which consists in the free provision of books to schools in remote areas, children's hospitals, and Korean people living overseas; The foundation also supports the establishment of Korean language courses and students in Korean studies curricula in various universities abroad to promote Korean language and culture worldwide.

In addition, the Doosan Art Center, which was opened in October 2007 to commemorate the 111th anniversary of Doosan Group, organizes diverse cultural programs including exhibitions, performances and concerts. Yonkang Hall was also remodeled as a composite cultural space including the smallscale theater Space 111 and the Doosan Gallery in order to promote the balanced development of various genres of art.

Doosan Yonkang Foundation will continue supporting various academic and cultural programs that contribute to the development of our nation and culture. We will assist you in achieving this dream with such programs instead of simply providing financial support. Please encourage and support the various activities of Doosan Yonkang Foundation as we march forward into the 21st century.
